About the event
The Chicago Juneteenth Planning Coalition, in partnership with the Black Remembrance Project and Adelmarieproduction is hosting the first Chicago Juneteenth Dance Competition. This dance competition will include two styles of dance that have cultural significance to Black Chicagoans: Footworking and Hip Hop dance. There will be two regional battles between the West and South sides on Saturday, June 17, 2023. The Westside battle is in Garfield Park and the Southside battle is in Bronzeville. The winners of the regional battles will compete in a final citywide battle at The DuSable Museum on Monday, June 19, 2023. Winners of the final will recieve cash prizes.
